To
Whom It May Concern:
This
agreement is between the Severodvinsk City Gymnasium (School
Number 14), of the Arkhangelsk region of Russia and Oyster
River High School, which is located in Durham, New Hampshire
in the United States. These two schools have agreed to form
an official program for the purpose of exchanging information
and ideas about the ecological and social issues that face
both of our communities. We would hope that, through this
exchange, our students will come to understand one another
and will discover solutions to problems that they would not
necessarily develop independently.
This
exchange will consist of visits of Gymnasium students and
faculty members to Oyster River High School and visits of
Oyster River students and faculty to the Severodvinsk City
Gymnasium. While the focus of the exchange will be on ecological
and environmental challenges facing both communities, students
will also spend time learning more about the history and culture
of the host country.
This
exchange will be three years in duration from 2011 through
the fall of 2014, at which time it will be renewed if both
parties are agreeable. While students traveling will bear
their own transportation costs, the hosting school will create
itineraries that will facilitate learning and discussion among
all pupils involved in the program and will find suitable
host families where students will dwell during their stays.
The
administrators and faculty members of both schools are confident
that the exchange will allow for the growth of a positive
and fruitful relationship between our two communities. We
hope for the support and cooperation of our citizens and government
officials as we build this bridge between the students of
our two countries.
Signed
this 17th day of April, 2011 by the directors of both schools.
